Interior work - S1

S1 Interior work

This update includes a fair amount of work, and re-work, and lots of trial and error. A multitude of items have been retrimmed in Conolly leather, including dashtop, dash trim and even the little covers at the top mounting point of the front seatbelts (Ok, I did get a bit carried away...). A new gearshift gaiter was sewn in same leather. Also changed swapped out the previous Autometer oil pressure gauge for a more period Smiths gauge (had to make a filler piece using the lid of a snuff box, trimmed in leather, as the Smiths gauge was of a smaller diameter). An "old-style" starter button (original used part from an E-type/Mk2) has been added, and wired in, on the centre console. Alongside is the switch that controls the starting carb.

A fantastic new carpet set in grey was supplied by John Skinner in the UK. Makes a huge difference and really makes it all come together.

What next? I'm waiting for late model S3 sun visors (i.e. not black) to arrive. There is one B-post left to retrim, and I've yet to really come up with a solution to the underdash panels. When all that is done, the interior is pretty much finished for this phase of development.
